On Saturday, May 4th the Community Recreation and Improvement Committee (C.R.I.C.) celebrated their 35th Annual Car Draw and Dance. With almost all 1000 tickets sold, the Tottenham Community and Fitness Centre was full of friends all anticipating an exciting elimination draw.
As the main fundraiser for the committee, the C.R.I.C. Car Draw and Dance generates funds that will directly impact the Tottenham community and district area. At this time final numbers of funds raised are not available. However, based on the ticket sales, increase in sponsorship, and funds generated throughout the evening, the CRIC committee is optimistic.
Live music and dancing kept the Tottenham arena lively and fun for all. Entertainment included Cardinal Street, the Carmela Long Band and DJ Rob Doyle closed out the night.
There are several groups that make this event possible. Special thanks to the Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors for supporting C.R.I.C. and the event. The volunteers who work throughout the weekend setting up, working the kitchen and bar and then when it’s all over tearing down and cleaning up. This event also wouldn’t be possible without the hours put in by the Committee throughout the year leading up to the big night.
The elimination draw was once again a nail biter. Onlookers were constantly monitoring the ticket boards to see if their ticket had been eliminated or a winner. In the end there could only be 40 lucky tickets drawn. Congratulations to Kelly Lannigan with ticket #864 who won the grand prize: a 2013 Honda Civic LX.
Kelly bought his ticket at Man of Yorke in Tottenham. For a complete list of the winners, please visit www.tottenhamcric.ca. See you at CRIC 2014!
