Worrod Memorial golf tourney raises $18.5K

The 10th Annual Michael Worrod Memorial Golf Tournament, held in July at Glen Eagle Golf Course, raised an amazing $18,500.
“We are so thankful and blessed to have so many amazing friends and supporters over the 10 years hosting this tournament,” said Betty Worrod, Michael Worrod’s mother. “We want to thank not only those who golfed but all our volunteers, those who sponsored a hole, everyone who donated money, prizes, snacks, food and water.”
This years event saw 240 golfers and a total of 260 at dinner.
“We are over the moon with gratitude and happiness to announce that we made $18,500 which brings the total over 10 years o $127,000,” said Kerry Worrod, Michael’s father. “It’s just not us who gives back but it’s each and every one of you who keep on giving and supporting. We are so honored to have all of you in our lives. So many thank-yous and love to you all.”
Over the years the Michael Worrod Memorial Fund has supported local charities including the Our Town Food Bank (serving Tottenham and Beeton), Help the Kids Play, and the Tottenham Lions Club., to name a few, as well as local individuals in need.
Michael Worrod was tragically killed on December 18th, 2007 in a car accident. His parents work to keep his memory alive by raising money in Micheal’s name.
