Female arrested for using counterfeit money

On Monday, May 8 at 9:26 a.m., Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a fraud at the Alliston Walmart with the suspect still present.
The female suspect was attempting to purchase gift cards with counterfeit American money. The store owner and employee determined that the money uttered by the suspect was multiple counterfeit American $50 bills, and they contacted police.
Officers attended the location and arrested Kimberley Newton, age 28 of New Tecumseth. She has been charged with:
Possessing Counterfeit Money; Uttering Counterfeit Money; Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; Fraud Under $5,000.
She was released on a Promise to Appear and will attend a future court date at the Bradford Court of Justice.
