The Blackhorse Village Players are back on the stage for the 2025/26 theatre season and are starting the year with a romantic drama.

The Blackhorse Village Players has a lineup of four plays scheduled for its stage, with the season starting on Nov. 7 and wrapping up on June 21, 2026.

The first offering is a romantic drama titled “Willow Quartet,” written by Joan Burrow. It features a cast of four and is set in a rural location.

In the aftermath of a tragedy that ends Kim and Ben’s marriage, Kim finds herself back at her childhood home.

She grew up on a farm, a long way from the city where she had been living with Ben.

While at the farm, she meets a visiting musician named Jim, and they develop a friendship.

Kim invites Jim to stay with her in an innocent bed-and-breakfast arrangement.

This does not go over well with Ben and Ben’s mother, Marjorie.

After a while, Kim becomes infatuated with Jim’s sophistication and charm. He has a way of making her forget her anguish, at least temporarily, until it finally makes its way to the surface of her emotions.

With Jim at her side, Kim struggles to navigate through her unresolved grief. She begins to explore her buried feelings until she eventually finds what can be her ‘new normal.’

Willow Quartet is a drama about choices, consequences, and ultimately, forgiveness.

The show will premiere on the Blackhorse stage on Friday, Nov. 7.

There will be performances on Friday and Saturday evenings as well as Sunday matinees through to Sunday, Nov. 23.

You can purchase tickets through the Theatre’s website at www.blackhorsetheatre.ca.
