Large-scale police operation near Schomberg poses no threat to public safety

A large-scale police operation on the 2nd Line near Schomberg had local residents wondering what was going on.
The operation was led by the RCMP with the assistance of local police agencies. A search warrant was served, and the property was entered.
There have been reports of individuals wearing hazmat suits working at the back of the property in buildings behind a main dwelling.
So far, police have not released any details about what is happening; however, the RCMP has released a statement regarding the ongoing investigation.
“The RCMP Central Region Serious and Organized Crime Unit has worked diligently at a site in Schomberg to collect and preserve evidence after the execution of a search warrant on September 7, 2025. As our members continue to conduct our investigation we acknowledge the concerns of residents in the area. As stated previously, there is no concern to public safety and the investigation is continuing. We hope to host a press conference in London, Ont., to release the details of the operation, likely in mid-October.”
