Matthews House Hospice will once again transform The New Tecumseth Recreation Centre Field House into a striking venue where it will host its annual gala, the Masquerade Ball, on Sept. 30.
The gala is the non-profit’s signature event and features the New Hollywood band, an incredible live and silent auction, and delicious and plentiful antipasto bar and hot buffet.
Learning from previous years, improvements have been made by adding more food stations, and online registration will enable the smooth check-in of guests as they arrive for the evening.
The hot buffet runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a dessert buffet at 9 p.m. Coffee and tea are available all night.
A new mobile bidding system, ClickBid, will also allow guests to place their bids and check the status though their mobile device. Registration for a bidder number is open now, as is bidding on online auction items.
Other fun and exciting additions will be the 36-foot LED dance floor which will keep you entertained while you dance the night away, and the Taylor’s Jewellers champagne draw where you buy a flute and receive a pair of firecracker earrings with an automatic draw entry for a grand prize.
With this year marking the 5th annual gala, the committee decided to add an element of elegance, sophistication and fun with a Masquerade Ball theme. Although it is not a costume party, masks are being provided to everyone who attends to add to the ambiance and excitement.
The largest fundraiser of the year, the gala will host close to 500 attendees this year and directly supports the mission and programs of Matthews House Hospice.
“With a Community Hospice and Residential Hospice in two locations in Alliston, Matthews House Hospice serves patients and their families in the South Simcoe communities,” said Katie Taylor, MHH representative. “We invite you to be a part of this incredible night and join a legacy of support for individual and families as we walk the journey together.”
