Winter parking restrictions in the Town of New Tecumseth will begin on Nov. 15, and residents are asked to abide by the rules to ensure local roadways remain accessible for maintenance.

The parking restrictions are in place in order to provide clear roadways for snow removal services during the fall and winter months as per the Town’s Parking and Traffic By-law.

As of Nov. 15, parking on all streets is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. The restrictions are in place until April 15, 2026.

Clear streets are necessary to ensure proper plowing and snow removal.

Vehicles that are parked on the street during the restricted hours will be ticketed and possibly towed if necessary. If a vehicle is towed, the owner will be responsible for the towing costs.

The Town is not liable for any damage to vehicles caused by street maintenance equipment to vehicles parked illegally on Town streets.

If you are parked on Town streets during a prohibited time, you will receive a $35 fine that must be paid voluntarily within 10 days.

After those 10 days, you are responsible for a set fine of $52.50.
