If you are proud of your town, and like to see it remain clean and litter-free, you can participate in a town-wide clean-up in April.

The Town of New Tecumseth invites residents, families, community groups, schools, and local businesses to take part in the 2026 Spring Clean Up Event.

This annual initiative encourages community members to work together to help keep New Tecumseth’s parks, schoolyards, trails, and neighbourhoods clean and green.

“Every year, the Spring Clean Up Event demonstrates what makes New Tecumseth such a special place to live,” said Mayor Richard Norcross. “When residents, families, businesses, and community groups come together with a shared purpose, we strengthen our sense of community and take real pride in caring for the spaces we all enjoy. I encourage everyone to take part this year and help make a lasting difference.”

Anyone can participate and help clean up the town. You can do it on your own, or create a group of friends, co-workers, or club members to pitch in and pick up all the litter left on the ground after the snow melted.

This is a rewarding activity and will provide a level of satisfaction knowing you have helped to keep the town looking its best.

To participate, first choose a location you will clean up. This could be a park, an open space, a parking lot, or a roadside area.

Then register your group and arrange for your fee cleanup supplies. You can clean your chosen area any time between April 12 and 26.

Once you have completed the clean-up, park staff will collect all the filled bags from your pre-arranged drop-off location.
