The Town of New Tecumseth has awarded a contract to Alexman Contracting Inc. to replace the 12th Line Bridge 12004 over the Innisfil Creek.
The Ainley Group has been retained to provide contact administration and inspection services for the project on behalf of the Town.
The bridge is located approximately 400 meters east of Sideroad 10.
In addition to the full bridge replacement, the work also includes road reconstruction at the bridge approaches, slope flattening, stabilization of the creek bank southwest of the bridge, and site restoration.
Work is scheduled to begin during the week of September 12, 2022, with a completion date anticipated by August 25, 2023. Work is expected to continue through the winter with a possible shutdown in the spring (March to April) due to the seasonal load restrictions on local roads.
Due to the nature of the project, the 12th Line will be closed to through traffic between Sideroad 10 and Sideroad 15. Local access will be maintained throughout construction.
Further notices will be provided to the impacted property owners on the 12th Line prior to a full closure of the road.
Construction and advisory signs will be erected prior to construction. It is advised that when driving or walking around the construction zone, residents follow and obey all signage for the safety of residents and workers.
It is expected that local residents may experience some delays and inconvenience during construction and the town asks for cooperation and patience in order to complete the project in a timely and efficient manner.
