Adjala-Tosorontio donates $110,000 to local hospital’s campaign

The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Because of you, we can” campaign in support of hospital redevelopment received a huge funding boost as the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio presented the foundation with a $110,000 donation.

Adjala-Tosorontio is Alliston’s neighbour to the west. It is primarily a rural area that provides many farming and business opportunities. Lots of residents in the township rely on health care in New Tecumseth.

“The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio and its elected council recognize that an important strength of its community is its health,” said Township CAO Nelson Santos. “And access to healthcare service remains a critical priority for community care through its well-recognized community hospital. On behalf of council and staff at Adj-Tos, we are grateful for the professional care today and are invested in securing care through our community hospital into the future.”

The donation will be matched by The Morningview Foundation.

“This donation brings us one giant step forward in reaching our goal of $1 million dollars for the matching gift from the Morningview Foundation,” said Mary Thomas, CEO of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation. “We are very thankful for the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio’s generosity as it shows the importance of the continued support that our community hospital is in need of.”

Earlier this year, The Morningview Foundation made a commitment to match all donations received between April 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million.
