Alectra is advising residents in Beeton of a planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, October 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The planned power outage is required for Alectra Utilities crews to safely install and replace aging poles and transfer lines to increase reliability of power in Beeton.

The work will affect 1,613 residential customers and 139 business customers.

In 2022, Alectra allocated a total of $306 million for capital improvements across its service territory to renew aging equipment and install new infrastructure to handle growing demand. Alectra is investing in its Beeton community to support growth and provide safe and reliable service to its customers.

Alectra is advising affected customers to prepare in advance for the planned power outage.

Use the provided safety tips to make sure everything goes well.

This includes making sure your appliances, such as the stove, are in the ‘off’ position, making sure your cellphones and other devices are fully charged, and keeping refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to retain temperature.

While Alectra understands how difficult it is to be without power, the company says the work is critical to improve future reliability of the power system.
