Alectra Inc., had donated $6,200 to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation that will be used to purchase a Dialysis Ultrasound, Vascular Handheld for the hospital.
The funds were provided through the AlectraCares Community support program, which provides funding to charities and non-profit organization that support the most vulnerable in its service territory.
Through the program, Alectra has become a long-time supporter of the hospital, contributing over $37,000 since 2017.
“Alectra is please to support the critical care needs of Stevenson Memorial Hospital,” said Brian Bentz, president and CEO of Alectra Inc. “Every day, thousands of chronic disease patients need Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s help. This need has been especially true during the pandemic. Having adequate equipment can make a significant difference in patients’ lives and the care they receive. We’re proud to be continually supporting the hospital so it can provide the best possible care for the community.”
The Dialysis Ultrasound, Vascular Handheld unit is used for assisting in cannulating new fistulas and grafts.
It is a portable machine that helps find the best location to place the cannula – a needle-like tube that’s inserted into the body for dialysis treatment. Fistulas and grafts are a lifeline of the patient, so it is very important to preserve the life of the fistulas and grafts.
This unit is compact, easy to use, and will make the cannulation experience better for the patients.
