All-Star games showcase local talent on the diamond

The Tottenham Beeton District Minor Softball Association held its fourth annual All-Star event on the diamond at the Tottenham Community & Fitness Centre on Sunday, July 26.
Both the U14 and U19 divisions fielded teams with their best players for two afternoon games.
The U14 All-Star game got underway at 1 p.m. in front of a large group of fans who turned out for the game.
The teams had a mix of players nominated from each team in the division and were split into Team Red and Team Blue for the big game.
Team Red was led by the pitching of Josh Larocque, Arianna Neto, and Nolan Slaunwhite. Catching behind the plate were Joshua Bursey and Max Giaganti.
Team Blue had exceptional hitting from Ciaran Dwyer, Clark Johnson, Carter Cambria, and Arianna Taccogna, which led to a Team Blue win for the day.
The U19 game followed, with Team White facing Team Black.
Team White was led at the plate by some powerful hitting by Andre Larocque, Chris Carroca, and Lucas McKee.
On defence, Jackson Hall, Luca Tarable, and Liam Cicirello put on a good display of defensive prowess.
Team Black brought their own talent to the game with outstanding pitching from Colton Cambria and Reilly Williams-Forde, and power at the plate led by Reilly Cranley and Drake Toten.
Parker Brown had a good day in centre field, making some great catches.
Team Black won the game 17-14.
