It’s almost time to take the ice out, and to celebrate the end of the season, but before that happens, the Alliston Curling Club is hosting its annual Meltdown Bonspiel.
The competition will take place on Saturday, April 11, at the Alliston Curling Club’s rink (52 Albert Street W., Alliston).
The Curling Club is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, and local residents have been enjoying the sport for over a century.
The Meltdown Spiel is an all-day event beginning at 8:00 a.m. and running through to 7:00 p.m.
It all starts with a pancake breakfast, followed by lunch and snacks. There will be a 50/50 draw, as well as fun games and activities between draws.
Each team will have two six-end games.
Everyone will go home with a prize, and there will be a special prize for the team that best represents the coming change of the seasons.
Registration is $50 per person and $200 per team. To register, visit the Alliston Curling Club website: allistoncurlingclub.com/index.php/events/event-registrations/bonspiel/162-meltdown-spiel-apr-11-2027.
