If you have pets and you need supplies to make sure they are happy and safe, the Alliston & District Humane Society will be hosting a Pet Supplies Garage Sale.
The Humane Society has a surplus of new pet supplies, which will be available for the public to purchase at the garage sale.
There are supplies for dogs and cats as well as small animals.
This is an opportunity to find some great deals on items you need for your furry friends while helping the Humane Society.
All proceeds from the sale will go to support the animals at the shelter.
“Some supplies are new that we have and some are donated supplies,” explained Alliston & District Humane Society volunteer Sherri Wilson. “We have a surplus of leashes, collars, and toys for both cats and dogs. We have storage units at the shelter and we’re absolutely full. We need to raise some money for our Vet bills.”
The Humane Society is currently filled to capacity. Many of the animals with the Humane Society have been abandoned at the roadside or left on their own.
The shelter spends a lot of money on veterinarian bills to keep their animals healthy.
“We’re full of cats and a lot of kittens that were dumped,” Sherri said. “We have been getting a lot of dogs that have been dumped and not claimed. We also have a lot of rabbits. People dump rabbits in farm fields and think they can just go off on their own, but they are domesticated rabbits, they can’t survive.”
The sale will take place at the Alliston & District Humane Society location at 5545 Concession Road 4, Everett, on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
