The Alliston Hornets show no sign of slowing down as they storm their way through the season and are now undefeated after 15 games.
The Hornets hosted the Midland Flyers for a mid-week game at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre on Wednesday, Nov. 6. It was the third time in two weeks the two teams met on the ice.
It didn’t take long for the Allison squad to set the tone of Wednesday’s game. At the end of the first period, the Hornets were leading 4-1 on goals from Jax Bellwood, Will Hopcraft, John Beausart and Cam Lamont.
The Flyers scored their only goal of the game at the 14:15 mark in the first frame.
Two more goals from Noah Cochrane and Bellwood in the second period gave the Hornets a 6-1 lead with one period left to play.
In the final frame, the Hornets hit the back of the Midland net four times with goals from Cole Turcotte, Aiden Landers and two from Tristen Pitt to win the game 10-1.
The Hornets now have 30 points – four ahead of the second-place Stayner Siskins and haven’t lost a single game all season.
The Orillia Terriers are in the number three spot in the standings with a 12-2-1 record and 25 points.
The Penetang Kings are in fourth place followed by the Innisfil Spartans and the Huntsville Otters.
In seventh place, the Midland Flyers have eight points. The Muskoka Bears are in eighth place with only two wins this season.
The Hornets will be on the road this weekend when they travel to Penetang to take on the Kings.
They will return to home ice at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre on Friday, Nov. 29, when they will host the Orillia Terriers.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
