It’s going to be one fun weekend as the annual Alliston Potato Festival gets underway with a full slate of events over three days.

The fun kicks off on Friday, Aug. 9, with the wildly popular parade down Victoria Street. Thousands of people will line the parade route to see the floats and performers.

The parade starts at 7 p.m.

After the parade, Victoria Street will be closed to traffic for a street party.

There will be music on the main stage, and buskers will entertain.

At the same time, the midway will open at the fairgrounds.

You can get some great food and experience a thrill on the midway rides.

The popular Domino’s Texas Hold’em Poker tournament will take place at the Alliston Curling Rink.

For teenagers, there will be an end-of-summer party, for kids aged 13 to 17, at the Pizzaiola’s Entertainment Area.

Saturday, Aug. 10, will be an all-day party. Victoria Street will be filled with vendors, performances, and fun activities.

The Recycle Teenagers Classic Car Show will take place at the west end of Victoria Street.

You can start the day by having pancakes at St. John’s United Church.

At the fairgrounds, you can visit the midway, or bring the kids to the Kid Zone, where there will be age-appropriate shows and activities for the young ones.

The beer garden will be open with a full line-up of music on the main stage.

The Team K-9 Agility Dog Show will perform three shows during the day with their energetic and talented canines.

If you think your own dog is something special, you can enter your pet in the Strutt Your Mutt Talent Show.

Sunday’s activities will begin with the Baby Show at 10:30 a.m. You can enter your child in their cutest outfit.

This year, Trillium Ford will be hosting the Ford Mustang Invitational for car lovers who like the muscle cars.

The entire weekend will be a fun-filled party with something for everyone of all ages.
