The Alliston Potato Festival is returning this year and will feature some new events on top of the already exciting, action-packed weekend.

The Festival returns to the streets of Alliston and the fairgrounds from Friday, August 5, to Sunday August 7.

Kicking off the weekend is the super-popular Friday night parade. With as many as 50 entries in the parade, Victoria Street and King Street will have thousands of people lining the parade route to see the decorated floats celebrating the agricultural roots of the community.

Dance groups, and local organizations also walk the route and interact with the people lining the streets.

The parade gets started at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.

On Friday night after the parade, there will still be some fun on the streets as buskers perform and entertain. The fairgrounds will be open after the parade with rides and games. There’s a Monte Carlo night and the Fire Fighter Friday night dance.

On Saturday, Victoria Street will be host to a big street party. There will be vendors, street shows, demonstrations and classic car show.

At the same time, the fairgounds will be packed with fun things to do. You can have fun on the carnival rides or wander over to see the demolition derby, mud bog, and motorcycle stunt show.

Enjoy some time at the beer garden and see some bands perform on the stage.

On Sunday morning, the popular baby show gives young parents the opportunity to show off the newest members of their family.

The Alliston Potato Festival offers three days of mid-summer family fun that provide a lifetime of memories.
