It was one of the first Volkswagen dealerships in Ontario when it opened its doors on Victoria Street East in Alliston in 1967, and Alliston Volkswagen has been a mainstay of local business for almost 60 years.
That was back when the Volkswagen Beetle was one of the most recognizable automobiles on the planet.
Since then, the Volkswagen brand has grown worldwide and offers a full line-up of cars and SUVs for everyone’s needs.
The dealership recently came under new ownership when Stefano Algieri took over the location in March.
Stefano said the fact that Alliston is ready to experience a lot of growth was a major factor in his decision to acquire the dealership.
He already has plans to rebuild the dealership to refresh and modernize the facility.
“The biggest thing for us is building a relationship with our customers and providing a good customer experience,” Stefano explained. “We like to greet our customers like they are coming into our home. This dealership had a big presence in this town, so it was important to keep this family value, and it is important to elevate the customer experience. We offer customer service with no pressure. With all the new development coming and what the town is evolving into, it’s going to be very impressive for the town. Our plan for the next two [years] is to build a new Volkswagen dealership.”
The plan for the dealership rebuild includes a new customer lounge, upgrading the coffee station, and putting more cars on the road.
In addition to a full line-up of Volkswagen vehicles, the dealership has used vehicles on the lot.
The service centre repairs Volkswagen vehicles, as well as those from all other makes and models.
Customers have already noticed an increase in new vehicles in the showroom and on the lot, as Stefano and his team are ready to provide Volkswagen vehicles to local residents.
After almost 60 years in business, Stafano is looking forward to many more years of serving Alliston and the surrounding region.
