On July 23 at 9:15 p.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle in the area of Swenson St. in Alliston.

Officers arrived on scene and learned that the driver had crashed into her residence after attempting a U-turn in her driveway. The driver was issued a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) and performed poorly.

The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old female from New Tecumseth, was arrested for Impaired driving by drugs and taken to a qualified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) for further evaluation.

The female was subsequently charged with Operation while Impaired – alcohol or drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a later court date. The charge mentioned has not been proven in court.

The driver is also facing a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.

“Report impaired drivers,” said the Nottawasaga OPP. “Should you observe a suspected impaired driver, please dial 911 or contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.”
