United Way Simcoe Muskoka, in partnership with United Way East Ontario, United Way Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, United Way Northumberland, United Way Elgin Middlesex, and United Way Windsor-Essex-Chatham-Kent, is pleased to announce that applications for the School Food Infrastructure Fund (SFIF) are now being accepted.
Funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada the SFIF supports not-for-profit organizations in enhancing infrastructure and equipment for school food programs. The initiative aims to improve access to nutritious food for students.
“Ensuring that students have access to healthy meals is essential for their well-being and academic success,” says Brian Shelley, Chief Executive and Philanthropy Officer of United Way Simcoe Muskoka. “The School Food Infrastructure Fund provides a vital opportunity for local organizations to strengthen their food programs and make a real difference in the lives of children in our communities.”

The application period is open until March 12 at 5 p.m., with funding decisions being communicated by May 1.
