Artisan’s and Farmer’s Market Spotlight: Bran View Kreations

August 12, 2021   ·   0 Comments

The Tottenham Beeton & District Chamber of Commerce Artisan and Farmer’s Market continues to bring in new vendors every week at Keogh Park in Tottenham.

Loretto’s Kim Goulding, of Bran View Kreations, brought a variety of one-of-a-kind had made clothing as well as home décor items to the market on Sunday, August 8.

Because each item of clothing is hand-made, even similar designs are totally unique.

All her quality clothing is made from natural fibres.

“I do all 100 per cent natural fibres,” Kim explained. “There are no man-made fibres. We have wool, cotton, linen, silk – anything that is natural. Our soaps are natural, made with olive oil. We are actually called ‘mixed fibres.’ That’s the category we fall under – we are mixed fibre artists. All of our cotton is organic cotton.”

Kim took over the art from a sibling.

“My brother was a weaver,” she explained. “We started selling my brother’s creations. My brother passed away suddenly and I had a choice to either carry through with the business or stop. I chose to carry the business. That’s how we started with the knitting. We have knitting, crocheting, weaving, and sewing.”

Because each item is designed and hand made, Kim produces for much of the year then has a short selling season.

“There’s no two pieces the same. We create 12 months of the year, but we mostly sell from August through to Christmas. We travel all across Canada. We follow the artisan’s circuit. From August until the end we do 17 cities, including Winnipeg, Brandon, Regina, and Saskatoon.”

She loads up a trailer to start then has more product shipped to her when she’s on the road.

Her clothing designs are trendy and fashionable and unique.

She has so many different designs she’s not even sure how many there are.

On top of her clothing line she has a series of hand made and all natural home décor items.

Everything from scrub brushes to tooth brushes are hand made.
