Ask an Expert Series examines Understanding Intellectual Property

The County of Simcoe Economic Development Office will be hosting another edition of its Ask an Expert series.

This seminar will allow participants to learn about the importance of Intellectual Property. It will provide information on how to budget properly and learn more about Intellectual Property Ontario services and resources.

The speaker will be Jarrod Hicks, Director of Intellectual Property for Intellectual Property Ontario.

During this session, participants will learn about the different types of intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents and the crucial role they play in protecting innovations and providing a competitive advantage.

There will be a discussion about strategies for developing and controlling an effective intellectual property budget.

Participants will be able to explore what Intellectual Property Ontario offers, which includes education, public events, tailored services to help innovators, funding, and mentorship.

You will gain a better understanding of how to safeguard your intellectual property with an opportunity to ask the expert your questions directly.

Jarrod Hicks enjoys working with startups and scale-ups. Each company has its own strengths and challenges, and Jarrod enjoys the opportunity to help businesses succeed. He has experience in numerous divergent technologies including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and neural computing.

This is a free event that will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
