The girl’s flag football program at Banting Memorial High School is having a superb season this year, with both the junior and senior teams on a winning streak with undefeated seasons.

Junior Team

The Banting junior girl’s flag football team has a lot of speed, and it shows when they are on the field.

The Marauders are 5-0 for the season. They have scored 135 points while allowing only 26 points against.

There are ten high schools in flag football competition this year.

Starting off with a 26-6 win over Orillia, the Marauders went on to win 19-12 over Nantyr Shores, 6-1 over Nottawasaga Pines, 15-0 over Barrie North, and 37-7 over Bear Creek.

Going into playoffs, the Marauders won their quarter-final 32-0 over Collingwood on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The high school flag football championship games were scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25, with results not available at press time.

Senior Team

The Marauders senior girl’s flag football team is undefeated this year.

In a field of ten teams, the Banting team is in first place, scoring 197 points while allowing only seven points against.

That is an outstanding achievement for any team.

The Banting team has managed to blank every team they played this season while allowing only one TD against them.

They started the season with a 47-0 win over Orillia. That was followed by a 51-0 win over Nantyr Shores, a 47-0 win over Bradford, a 25-7 win over Barrie North, and a 27-0 win over Bear Creek.

Playoffs get underway this week.

The location and date of the championship game have not yet been announced.
