Beeton park getting new playground equipment

April 22, 2021   ·   0 Comments

Kids in Beeton will have some new playground fun when upgrades to their local park are complete.

The playground at Beeton Community Park will be getting refreshed with the installation of new playground equipment.

The equipment has reached the end of its planned useful life. It is recommended that the asset replacement schedule be followed based on industry best practices.

The schedule is supported by an independent third party audit that was conducted in 2018.

Equipment in the playground has varying ages with the newest piece having been installed 12 years ago. That is two years beyond the recommended replacement schedule time.

Upon removal, staff will inspect all equipment components and salvage any pieces that can be put into spare parts inventory in case repairs are need in similar equipment at parks around the town while those parks wait replacement.

A park design rendering is available showing the new equipment and placement in the park.

Town crews started removing the equipment on Monday, April 19.

After preparing the site, installation of the new equipment will commence on April 26, weather permitting.
