The Bolton Brewers have advanced to the North Dufferin Baseball League senior championship after eliminating the Owen Sound Baysox in their best-of-five second-round series.

The result of the series was a bit of a surprise, but not a total shocker.

Owen Sound finished the regular season as the first-place team in the League with a 17-5 record.

Bolton ended the regular season in the number five spot in the standings.

The series got underway on Saturday, Aug. 15, with Game 1 going to the Brewers 8-4.

Bolton went ahead by two after winning Game 2 by a score of 6-1.

That set off the alarms for Owen Sound, who averaged more than eight runs per game in the regular season.

The Baysox won Game 3 by a score of 6-1 to keep the series alive.

It was all over when Bolton pulled off a 7-2 win in Game 4 of the series on Friday, Aug. 21, to wrap up the series.

The Brewers will now advance to the championship round.

In the other second-round series, the New Lowell Knights are battling against the Ivy Rangers.

New Lowell is leading the series 2-1.

Game 4 was scheduled to take place in New Lowell on Aug. 24; however, rain forced the game to be cancelled and rescheduled.

In Game 1 of the series, Ivy got the bats moving and ran up the score to leave the diamond with an 11-1 win.

It was evened up in Game 2 when New Lowell came out on top, winning 6-0.

The Knights moved into the lead in the series with an 8-4 win on Aug. 20.

The winner of the series will go on to face the Bolton Brewers for the 2026 North Dufferin Baseball League championship.
