On Tuesday, August 1, the Borden Women’s Open presented Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $800 to refresh patient rooms at the Hospital. This is the fourth year that the Borden Women’s Open has contributed to Stevenson Memorial Hospital through their annual golf tournament held in July at the Base Borden Golf Club. Over ninety women played in the tournament to support a local cause, while working on their swings.
The Borden Women’s Open is a long-time supporter of the Hospital and has donated $3,055 towards critical equipment needs including the Refurbish-A-Room Campaign. Through the Refurbish-A-Room Campaign, the Hospital has the opportunity to raise funds for needed items in patient rooms, like privacy curtains, window blinds, bedside tables, over-the-bed tables, and even beds themselves. You can imagine what a newly refurbished room will mean to a patient recovering from a stroke, heart attack, or surgery, and how much of an impact it can have on the quality of their stay and recovery.
“Thank you for the continued support from the Borden Women’s Open, it will be of help, as the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation has just entered an exciting time with the launch of the Transforming Stevenson Campaign,” reads a press release from the Foundation. “This is a multi-year $8 million campaign, and is the hospital’s first step to raising the funds needed to introduce new innovative technologies and critical equipment that is vital to the success of the future redeveloped hospital. This $8 million campaign, has three major areas of investment; including the implementation of SHINE – One Patient, One Record (Shared Health Information Network Exchange), annual critical equipment needs, and redevelopment planning costs.”
Stevenson Memorial Hospital provides care for approximately 73,000 residents, and every day, individuals come to Stevenson seeking quality care and treatment.
