Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a break and enter of a business in Alliston.
On Aug. 2, shortly before 5 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a break and enter of a business located at 19 Young Street, New Tecumseth. Upon arrival, officers observed signs of forced entry, and the suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The preliminary investigation revealed that between 4:20 and 4:30 a.m., two suspects arrived at the location in a pickup truck, which was reversed up to the store’s front entrance. The suspects used a hammer to smash the front glass door and then attached a chain from the door’s security bars to the truck.
The driver re-entered the vehicle and drove forward, forcibly removing the door from its frame. Two suspects entered the store and stole approximately $2,000 worth of vape products.
