Local country singer, 19- year-old Naomi Bristow will be performing at St. John’s United Church in Alliston (across from the Shoppers Drug Mart) on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. “A Country Christmas with Naomi Bristow” is a concert not to be missed, as Naomi is our very own home grown “Yodelin’ Cowgirl,” who recently returned from Nashville after receiving The Traditional Female Rising Star Award at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville Tennessee.
Naomi grew up on the family horse farm in Beeton, and is a multi-award-winner in both Canada and the U.S. And she was also featured on Canada’s Got Talent in the 2012 season. Bristow has recorded 10 albums and has recently produced a DVD. We are fortunate to have her take time out of her busy touring schedule to perform right here in New Tecumseth.
Tickets are $20 and are available at the door or can be purchased in Beeton at Rustic Roots, or in Alliston at Paper Moon, Herbert’s Western Wear, and at Mike’s Family Restaurant.
Naomi’s concert is the first in a three-concert music series at St. John’s United Church. The remaining two concerts are Elmer Iseler Singers – a world renowned 20-voice choir based in Toronto who are Canada’s flagship vocal ensemble. They will be performing on Feb. 11, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. with tickets at $35. They will be offering a workshop at 5pm prior to the concert for a small fee.
The last in the series is Cadence, a group of four exceptionally talented graduates of York University who are an a capella group. One would never know that they are unaccompanied by how amazing they are at providing percussion sounds with their voices in a traditional jazz style. Great entertainment for the whole family. Mark your calendars for Friday, April 7, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.
Series tickets for all three concerts are available for $60 up until Nov. 19. For more information please contact John Dodington at 705-718-0545.
