More than 400 community members across York Region and South Simcoe will unite at Mental Health in Motion to support youth mental health and the Canadian Mental Health Association, York Region South Simcoe’s Mobile Youth Walk-in Clinic (MOBYSS).
Mental Health in Motion aims to raise $130,000 to support the Youth Walk-in Clinic, which offers youth aged 12 to 25 a safe and welcoming space to receive free medical or mental health care.
At this year’s Mental Health in Motion event, CMHA will be unveiling a brand new MOBYSS vehicle. After an official ribbon cutting to declare the opening of the new mobile clinic, community members are invited to tour the space and meet CMHA’s MOBYSS team.
CMHA CEO Rebecca Shields and members of the MOBYSS team will be available to discuss how the new, modern vehicle will help CMHA continue to provide excellent medical and mental health care to youth across York Region and South Simcoe.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 11, with a 60 km bike route, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new MOBYSS vehicle.
A 25 km ride will begin at 10:00 a.m. A 5 km walk and 10 km run will start at 10:20 a.m., followed by a 5 km run at 10:30 a.m.
The event will take place at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex at 100 Eagle Street in Newmarket.
