Collision on Tottenham Rd. claims life of teen girl

A head-on collision on Tottenham Road has claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl from Innisfil.

Emergency crews responded to the scene just after 7:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 7, on Tottenham Rd., between the 5th and 6th Lines.

Police said the crash was a head-on collision between two passenger vehicles.

The 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim was taken to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious injuries.

A third person received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and released.

Tottenham Road was closed for several hours for an investigation. The road is now open.

There is no word on what may have led to the crash.

The OPP’s collision reconstruction team is investigating the accident.
