Community Grant Program benefits local organizations and events

The Community Grant Program began receiving applications in December and will continue to be open until the Feb. 29, deadline.

Grant opportunities are contingent on the allocation of funding as part of the town’s budget process. The total funding available for grants will be determined annually through the budget process.

If you are planning on submitting an application for a grant, it is important to review the Community Grant Program Policy before filling out an application.

All Grant applications will be reviewed in March and April with the final approval given at the first Council meeting in May. Priority will be given to eligible groups that submit complete grant applications on the approved application form, have relevant supporting documents, and submit by the Feb. 29 deadline.

Grants will be approved in three categories.

Community Grant Application

The Community Grant Application assists organizations that provide beneficial, core services to the community that are not provided by the Town.

Funds in this category will include requests o initial start-up funding, equipment, material and supply purchases, or to offset Town established user fees.

You can apply in this category if your group is requesting a fee waver to rent town space, rent town equipment or supplies.

The maximum grant is $2,000.

Community Events Grant

The Community Events Grant assists organizations that deliver community celebrations, festivals, and special events that Council considers to be core services to the community.

This category does not include, fundraising events, events which raise funds for another organization, or events hosted by the private sector or individuals.

The maximum eligible grant amount is $2,000.

Community Arts, Culture and Tourism Grant

The Community Arts Culture and Tourism Grant supports organizations promoting opportunities in artistic expression and cultural endeavours for people of all ages, through education and participation, tourism and development activities, and the operation of significant cultural facilities providing core services to the community.

The maximum eligible grant amount is $25,000.
