Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) recently received a combined commitment of $250,000 from the Carpenters and Allied Workers Local 27 and Drywall, Acoustic Lathing & Insulation Local 675. The funds will help advance the redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital through the Because of YOU Campaign.

The joint contribution reflects the Locals’ commitment to strengthening the communities where their members live and work. Their investment will help bring exceptional healthcare closer to home by supporting the construction of a modern hospital that will serve South Simcoe and the surrounding region for generations to come.

“On behalf of Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, I want to sincerely thank Local 27 and Local 675 for their remarkable generosity,” said Dr. Ted Vandevis, President and CEO of SMHF.

“This investment is about more than bricks and mortar, it is an investment in the health and wellbeing of our families, friends, neighbours, and future generations. Community partnerships like this are helping make our new hospital a reality, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.”

Representatives from Local 27 and Local 675 joined Foundation leadership for a cheque presentation celebrating the milestone gift.

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is currently undergoing a transformational redevelopment that will significantly expand patient care capacity, modernize services, and better meet the needs of one of the province’s fastest growing regions.

The Foundation’s Because of YOU campaign is raising $80 million to help fund the new hospital, ensuring local residents have access to exceptional care close to home for decades to come. Every gift, regardless of size, plays an important role in bringing the new hospital to life.
