CONTACT Community Services will host its Second Annual Grand Parade in support of seniors in need in South Simcoe.

The parade aims to raise awareness and funds to help provide essential services and resources for seniors in the community.

As an organization that has worked in the community for over 46 years, CONTACT sees the struggles that seniors in the community are facing.

CONTACT Community Services is dedicated to ensuring that these individuals receive the support they need to live healthy, happy and fulfilling lives as they age.

The Grand Parade is a national family-friendly walk that brings the community together for a day of fun, food, and entertainment. Local community organizations, businesses and government officials take part in the festivities.

“We are thrilled to host The Grand Parade in support of seniors in South Simcoe,” said Emily McIntosh, executive director of CONTACT Community Services. “Our goal is to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by seniors in our community and to rally support from our neighbors and friends to help make a difference in their lives.”

Prizes will be awarded for Most Raised as an Individual, Most Raised as a Team, and Best Team Spirit.

Costumes are welcome.

The walk will be held at two locations to accommodate the growing population of South Simcoe.

The track at Banting Memorial High School, located at 203 Victoria St. E. in Alliston, will be one location. The other location is 100 Dissette St. in Bradford. Participants will walk a 2 km route and enjoy a complimentary light lunch.

All those who raise over $150 (or $75 for youth) will also receive TGP shirts to wear as they take to the track.

The parade will take place on Sept. 27.
