In honour of His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation, the office of the Governor General is issuing a Coronation Medal.

It is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark a coronation. The medal will be awarded to 30,000 deserving individuals.

The medal is manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint and features a crowned image of King Charles on one side, and a Royal Cypher over the sunburst design of the Canadian Coronation emblem on the other side.

Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson is accepting nominations for the medal to recognize citizens for their service to the community.

Nominations should include a description of how the nominee contributed to the community through conservation, collaboration, or compassion, and should include detailed substantiation, including letters of support, news article references, and other documents.

Separate letters or attachments are acceptable with the submission.

Nominations can be made by completing the nomination form and dropping it off at the constituency office, or by e-mailing the completed form.

Emails should be directed to Brian.Saunderson@pc.ola.org.

Nominations submissions will be accepted until Aug. 31, 2024.

Questions regarding how to nominate an individual can be directed to the constituency office, or inquire at 705-435-4087 or 705-428-2134.
