The County of Simcoe is celebrating the important contributions of transit staff and the vital roles they play across the region.
March 18 was declared Transit Worker Appreciation Day.
“Today, we proudly recognize the outstanding dedication of our transit workers who keep our community moving every day,” said Simcoe County Warden Basil Clarke. “Transit Worker Appreciation Day is an opportunity to celebrate the vital contributions these professionals make to our daily lives. Whether they’re getting us to work and school or helping us reach important appointments, their reliability and commitment continue to be the driving force behind LINX Transit’s success. We remain deeply grateful for their ongoing dedication.”
Since service began in 2018, LINX and LINX Plus have provided over 1.4 million rides for people across Simcoe County.
With six routes in operation, residents can travel between communities with ease and reliability. These affordable and accessible routes allow residents to access health services, educational institutions, employment opportunities, and special events.
LINX Transit includes six routes: New Tecumseth to Bradford West Gwillimbury, Penetanguishene/Midland to Barrie, Wasaga Beach to Barrie, Orillia to Barrie, Collingwood to Wasaga Beach, and Midland to Orillia.
