The County of Simcoe has relaunched its Education Bursary Program to assist students attending a post-secondary institution in Ontario.

There are up to 21 bursaries of $3,000 available for County of Simcoe students.

One bursary is guaranteed for a resident of each participating member municipality.

“Our student bursary program works to support students and families across the County, and prepares our young people to be competitive in the future jobs market,” said Warden George Cornell. “We thank participating member municipalities for supporting the bursary program and look forward to supporting deserving students with access to education and skill development across our region.”

The Bursary Program provides students accepted into the program with financial assistance to access post-secondary education and training. The program is consistent with the County of Simcoe’s commitment to education as well as encouraging community involvement and civic responsibility.

To be eligible, you must be a resident of a participating Simcoe County municipality and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

You must have graduated or be eligible for graduation in the year of application from a secondary school in the County, and be enrolled and commencing studies in the first or second year of an undergraduate program at an Ontario university or college as a full-time student.

Eligible applicants are invited to complete an on-line application which included the submission of a 500-word essay on a pre-determined topic, as well as an explanation as to why they should be awarded a bursary.

Applicants must provide a copy of their Grade 12 or fist year post-secondary transcript and proof of enrollment at an Ontario University or College in an undergraduate program as a full-time student.

Applications must be submitted by July 29, 2022.
