The County of Simcoe, along with several municipalities and schools, is hosting a virtual job fair on April 26.

After the success of previous job fairs, it was decided that there is a need to continue with this type of program to help people find employment in the region.

Two events held in June and November of 2021, connected 167 employers with 812 job seekers. Around 2,101 conversations between employers and job seekers took place during those live events.

Data collected from the County’s Work in Simcoe County website reveals that in the month of February there were 9,684 active job openings in the region.

The most in-demand skills include sales and service, trades, transport and equipment operation, business, finance and administration, education, law and social, and community and government services.

The event will be hosted on an innovative, user-friendly platform where job seekers and employers can connect through one-on-one text chat, audio, and video.

Multiple sectors will be represented at the job fair. This includes employers in manufacturing and distribution, hospitality and tourism, healthcare and social assistance, construction and trades, and government and public administration.

You can view a list of registered employers by visiting: www.workinsimcoecounty.ca/virtual-job-fair-april/.

The website includes local resources and job opportunities.

The Work in Simcoe County Virtual Job Fair will take place on Tuesday, April 26, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

This is a free event but you must register to take part. Space is limited so make sure to register early.
