After more than a decade of dedicated service, Andy Owens is bidding farewell to their current role at Abilities in Motion (AIM).

Andy was the site coordinator and leaves behind a legacy of commitment, passion, and community engagement.

Abilities in Motion promotes inclusive paddling and provides people with physical disabilities and mental challenges the opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy paddling.

Since joining AIM in 2009, Andy has played an instrumental role in expanding the organization’s reach at the Earl Rowe Provincial Park location.

His leadership and tireless efforts helped AIM grow its presence within the local community, ensuring that families in need have the opportunity to enjoy paddling in a safe and fun environment.

Andy’s work extended beyond the walls of AIM facilities – he actively connected with organizations throughout the region to spread awareness about the AIM mission.

Andy was a cornerstone of AIM’s volunteer program. He not only recruited individuals passionate about helping others, but also took the time to train and mentor them, thus ensuring that AIM’s values of kindness and service were upheld at every level.

His dedication did not go unnoticed as colleagues, volunteers, and community members alike have expressed their deep appreciation for his contributions.

As Andy moves on to new endeavours, the AIM community extends its heartfelt gratitude for his years of service.

Even though he is leaving his current position, Andy will still be available from time to time to continue to provide on-the-water instruction.

Abilities in Motion is seeking a volunteer to assist in the day-to-day operation at the Earle Rowe Provincial Park location. This should be someone who lives in the area, is available from May to September and has the time and commitment to provide leadership at the Alliston location.

If you or someone you know is interested in this rewarding opportunity, you can reach out to AIM  by email at info@abilitiesinmotion.ca, or visit the website at www.abilitiesinmotion.ca to learn more.
