Doors Open invites residents and visitors to County cultural and heritage sites

Tourism Simcoe County, in partnership with its municipal partners, has announced the return of Doors Open Simcoe County.

The event celebrates the region’s rich cultural heritage and historic landmarks.

The event invites residents and visitors to discover the stories, people, and places that have shaped Simcoe County through exclusive access to some of its most treasured sites.

This year, 22 unique locations will participate, offering free public access to sites of historical, architectural, natural, and cultural significance.

Doors Open Simcoe County is part of the Doors Open Ontario initiative. This is a province-wide heritage and cultural tourism program.

Each year, participating sites showcase a diverse mix of modern and heritage buildings, from museums and places of worship to trails, natural areas and private businesses.

Whether you are a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or just curious about hidden gems in local communities, Doors Open Simcoe County offers a rare chance to step inside and discover the stories that shape the region.

Doors Open Simcoe County will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
