On Monday, June 20, at approximately 3:47 p.m., police received a complaint from Simcoe County EMS of single Motor vehicle rollover collision on Simcoe County Road #1 in Adjala-Tosorontio Township
At 4 p.m. police arrived on scene and observed a 2002 Toyota Camry rolled over on its roof blocking the roadway. OPP officers spoke with witnesses while paramedics assessed the lone female driver. Police observed the driver had obvious signs of intoxication with glossy eyes and slurred speech.
The driver was transported to an area hospital by Simcoe EMS and treated for minor injuries. She was given her charter rights and read the breath demand.
At approximately 6:16 p.m., the accused provided suitable samples of her breath into an intoxlizer at the hospital.
As a result of thorough police investigation Tracy Kearney, 43, of New Tecumseth, was charged with Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to appear given a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and her vehicle seized for 7 days. She will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford, on July 28.
