Essa-based Sweetiez Cookies: Not your average cookie

If you have a sweet tooth and like a good cookie every now and then, you will really enjoy Sweetiez giant stuffed cookies, which take baking to a new level.

Megan Power brought her cookies to the Tottenham Vendors’ Market on Sunday, July 19, and visitors were delighted to see these delicious baked goods.

“We make giant stuffed cookies in different flavours,” Megan explained. “They all have something different in them. We have a Mars Bar version, that’s out best seller. We do some that may not have a filling on the inside, but they have a filling on top.”

The cookies are huge, and come in flavours like salted caramel, strawberry sundae, cookies and cream, and grandma’s chocolate chip.

Megan doesn’t come from a culinary or baking background. She was looking to try something new, and baking was really more of a hobby.

The giant cookie was her own invention. She tried different versions before refining it to her current product.

At her vendor stand, she also sells dirty sodas.

Dirty sodas, unlike what the name implies, are delicious pop-based drinks that take a new twist on regular flavours.

“Dirty sodas are all the rage now,” Megan explained. “It is a pop-based drink and you add different flavours of syrup to enhance the flavour, and a little bit of half-and-half creamer on top, and that’s what makes it dirty. We add new flavours all the time – sometimes weekly or monthly – or we will have a special flavour. It’s a cold drink on ice.”

The cookies are a great afternoon treat or a whole dessert because they are so big. They are an excellent choice for weddings, bridal showers, or corporate events.

Megan sells her giant cookies at various markets, as well as the Maker’s Market on Victoria Street in Alliston.
