The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation has received a $8,450 donation from Essa Township that will go towards the ‘Because of you, we can,’ campaign in support of the ongoing redevelopment efforts at Stevenson Memorial Hospital.
Essa Township, located in the County of Simcoe, is a neighbouring rural community northeast of New Tecumseth, known for its rich agricultural heritage, particularly potato farming. The area has a robust military presence, with the nearby CFB Borden military base and many Francophone families. On June 4, Essa Township held its 22nd Annual Golf Tournament to raise funds for local healthcare, including the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
“We are proud to contribute some of the proceeds from our Annual Golf Tournament to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation,” said Essa Township Mayor Sandie Macdonald. “Access to a modern, well-equipped hospital is essential for the health and well-being of our community, now and in the future. We are honoured to support the ‘Because of you, we can’ Campaign and the important redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital.”
Frank Cerisano, CEO of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, said, “We are deeply thankful to Essa Township for their continued support through their annual golf tournament. Their generous donation will go a long way in helping Stevenson Memorial Hospital provide the exceptional care our growing community needs. Their commitment to improving local healthcare is truly appreciated.”
The ‘Because of you, we can,’ campaign is the largest campaign in SMHF’s history. Donations received help purchase essential equipment, upgrade technology, and complete critical renovations essential to the transformation and redevelopment of Stevenson Memorial Hospital
