Of the 20 municipalities listed for Simcoe County, only four have Fire Danger Ratings of High.
Those municipalities include Collingwood, Innisfil, Springwater, and Wasaga Beach.
In cottage country, the Muskoka region also has a current rating of High.
Residents are encouraged to be aware of the local Fire Danger Rating as it may change during the summer season.
Fire Danger Ratings and burning bans are issued at the discretion of local Fire Services.
If a fire rating is listed as High, there may be a burn ban put in place.
A burn ban may include all fires including those where permits have been issued.
If you do have an outdoor fire, it must be tended to at all times. A bucket of water or extinguishing system must be nearby.
Make sure all fires are extinguished fully before you leave a fire.
Be aware of current Fire Danger Ratings in your area and follow any orders that have been issued regarding outdoor fires.
