Five individuals arrested in New Tecumseth following stolen property investigation

As a result of an ongoing police investigation, a search warrant was executed on a property at 17 Sideroad in New Tecumseth on April 15.

At 12:57 p.m., members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Huronia West Community Street Crime Unit and the Central Region Emergency Response Team of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), conducted the search. 

At that time, Police located and seized a 2017 Jaguar XF Sedan valued at $30,000 that was reported stolen out of Peel Region. Officers also seized a U-Haul Van valued at $15,000 that was stolen out of Guelph, and a U-Haul trailer valued at $6,000 that was reported stolen out of Ajax.

As a result of this investigation, five people were charged with offences.

  • Thomas Brooks, 50, of Schomberg, was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – three counts.
  • Candace Brush, 30, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 – three counts.
  • Nichols Radelja, 35, of Schomberg, was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – three counts.
  • Andrew Radelja, 39, of Schomberg, was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – three counts.
  • Michael Radelja, 41, of Schomberg, was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – three counts.

The accused are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. 

None of the listed charges have been proven in court.
