In collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, Stevenson Memorial Hospital is announcing that the influenza outbreak on the hospital’s Medical Surgical Unit has been declared over.

The announcement was made on Friday, Nov. 28.

Visitation is open for patients on the unit.

The hospital previously declared a flu outbreak in the medical/surgical unit. Close contacts had been notified, and enhanced cleaning was carried out, with additional infection prevention and control measures in place.

The hospital is asking the public to refrain from visiting if you are unwell or have any respiratory symptoms.

If you go to the emergency department for care, wear a hospital-provided mask upon arrival if you are experiencing respiratory symptoms.
