If you are looking for a “Truckin’ Good Time” plan to attend the Rurban Food Truck Rally on Saturday, June 18 from noon until 6 p.m. in downtown Alliston.
This second annual event, hosted by the Alliston Business Improvement Association (ABIA), takes place on Mill Street at Victoria Street (behind Details).
The event includes live music (including singer Tara Tuma), a beer garden, gourmet street food from authentic food trucks, and the Alliston BIA Farmers’ Market.
Also on this day, the South Simcoe Arts Council (SSAC) will also host its “Battle of the Brushes,” a live painting event where registered artists paint a 4-foot-square canvas, using a palette of acrylic paints in 30 minutes or less.
Registration for the Battle begins at 10:30 a.m. with heats of artists (30 at one time) painting at 11 a.m. and noon.
The final round, featuring the top four artists as chosen by public vote, begins at 1 p.m.
The winner will receive the grand prize of $500 and second place winner will receive $250, as contributed by the Alliston Business Improvement Association.
All paintings will then be sold through a silent auction, with funds raised donated back to the South Simcoe Arts Council.
