The North Dufferin Baseball League has moved into the second round of the playoffs with four teams now remaining in the quest for the 2026 senior championship.
The Owen Sound Baysox are up against the Bolton Brewers in their series.
Owen Sound finished the regular season in first place.
The Baysox dispatched the Caledon Cardinals in the first round in a series that went three games.
Owen Sound finished the series on Aug. 9 with a 12-2 win in Game 3 of the match-up.
The Brewers knocked the Orillia Majors out of contention in their first-round series. The series went four games, with the Brewers shutting out the Majors in two of those games, leaving them scoreless.
The series wrapped up on Aug. 10 with an 8-6 win for Bolton.
In round two, the Brewers are leading 1-0 after winning Game 1 of the series against Owen Sound 8-4.
The other second-round series has the New Lowell Knights up against the Ivy Rangers.
New Lowell finished the regular season in first place. They had been leading the league for most of the season before Owen Sound took over and dropped them to second place late in the season.
The Knights won their first-round series over the Midland Mariners in a series that took five games.
New Lowell won the first two games before they played to a 4-4 tie in Game 3.
Midland took a 5-1 win in Game 4.
It was all over on Aug. 13 with a 5-0 win in Game 5.
Ivy won their first-round series over the Barrie Angels. That series went four games and finished on Aug. 11 with a 2-1 Ivy win.
In the second round, Ivy won Game 1, with a huge 11-1 score over New Lowell.
The second round of the NDBL senior playoffs will wrap up by Aug. 25, with the two remaining teams entering the championship series with hopes of winning the Strother Cup.
