On Monday, October 1, a team of close to 30 Grand & Toy volunteers travelled to Stevenson Memorial Hospital to put a fresh coat of paint on hallways and doors throughout the hospital.

Arriving at 8:30a.m., and using the paint and supplies donated by community partners, Grand & Toy, volunteers spent seven hours helping to refresh the hospital.

“I am proud of Grand & Toy’s Pause and Affect Program, which enables our associates to step out of their traditional work roles and volunteer at events like these. I was excited to participate today with so many of our associates to help revitalize Stevenson Memorial Hospital by not only adding a fresh coat of paint to key areas, but to also show our support for the hospital staff, its patients, and the community,” said Stan Dabic, Vice President. “The Stevenson Memorial Hospital is an important customer to Grand & Toy, and our associates are happy to lend a helping hand with this important project.”

“We were blown away by the level of interest demonstrated by Grand & Toy employees to help out with this important work,” said Carrie Jeffreys, Vice-President Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Stevenson Memorial Hospital. “A fresh coat of paint does not take away the need for a redeveloped Stevenson Memorial Hospital, but it does help to ensure that we’re providing the best possible patient experience with the facilities that we have. We thank the generous community supporters who have made the ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves’ for Stevenson revitalization project possible. Thank you to Alliston Home Hardware Building Centre for donating 265 Gallons of Beauti-Tone paint, and Wilton’s Floor and Wall Coverings for donating the painting supplies that have made this initiative possible.”
