Grandmothers Embrace of South Simcoe will once again host its popular fall sale.
The organization of the local women helps the Stephen Lewis Foundation to support African grandmothers who are raising their orphaned grandchildren.
Africa experienced a severe AIDS epidemic that saw many younger people with children dying from the disease. Because of this, many young children were orphaned, and a lot of grandmothers had to step into the role of helping raise these children.
Grandmothers Embrace raises funds to help these grandmothers care for these children.
Grandmothers Embrace South Simcoe is currently collecting donations of gently used jewellery, purses, and scarves to be sold at their annual fall sale. Proceeds will go directly to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
